2010 Events in Review Huckfest 2010 . . . Off the Charts!  . . . Bigger and Better Than EVER! Photos from the 2010 Huckfest! Just when you think an event can't get any better, it does! The Heart of Ohio Huckfest at Thistledown Field was another fantastic event. Thanks to the Flying Giants, all the members and friends of the Thistledown Flyers, and most especially the pilots from across the country who made this one of our best fly-ins ever. The inaugural King 50 3D Contest was a big success, with pilots pushing the envelope (and beyond) as they competed for the top prize. Congratulations to the winners: Joe Smith 405 — Top 3D Score R.J. Griter 402 — Top Showmanship Score Devin McGrath 386 — Top Choreography, Top Precision Jamie Hicks 376 — 2nd Precision Score Well done, everyone! Another winner was our own Corky Heitman, who generously provides the facility where the Heart of Ohio Huckfest is hosted. The Flying Giants honored Corky with a Lifetime Achievment Award for his many contributions to R/C flying. Not even some rain showers on Saturday could cool down the Huckfest. Things dried out in time for Saturday's night's delicious Steak Dinner that was enjoyed by all. The Heart of Ohio Huckfest was organized by FlyingGiants.com and hosted by the Thistledown Flyers. The Huckfest features all the best of R/C flying, from Giant Scale to electrics to helis — and everything in between. The Heart of Ohio Huckfest is one of five events in the FlyingGiants.com/3DHobbyShop.com 2010 Huckfest US Tour. The Huckfest expanded to 4 days this year, with official activities beginning on Thursday, September 9. Pilots always show up early anyway, so the Flying Giants decided to make it official this year — 4 days of Huckfest fun! And a few pilots still showed up early to get in some extra flying! The Profile Brotherhood brought their brand of fantastic flying to Thistledown Field on August 13, 14, and 15. Profile planes large and small — and pilots large and small — made it a great weekend!
