Thistledown Fall Fly-In 2007

The Thistledown Fall Fly-In is an air show featuring radio controlled (R/C) model aircraft. This is a free family-friendly event, and children are welcome when accompanied by a responsible adult. There is no admission fee for either adults or children. It's a wonderful way to spend a pleasant September afternoon.
What You'll See
The weekend is devoted to flying R/C aircraft. Hundreds of R/C aircraft will be at Thistledown Field, and there will be as many as five R/C planes in the air at a time. These include vintage biplanes, military aircraft, helicopters, and aerobatic planes. Around noon each day, special R/C demonstration flights are scheduled, including miniature jet aircraft powered by real jet engines. Click here for photos from last year's event.
About R/C Airplanes
The R/C model aircraft flown during this weekend are not toys. They are precision miniature aircraft that can perform any maneuver that a full size plane can perform—and then some! Many of these "miniature" aircraft are quite large, weighing 50 pounds and flying well over 100 miles per hour. Needless to say, the R/C pilots are extremely skilled!
For safety reasons, we ask that you look, but don't touch any of the planes or equipment. Please obey the instructions of the safety personnel in the orange vests and Thistledown Flyers members in their blue or grey shirts.
We encourage you to ask questions. R/C pilots are more than happy to share their knowledge and enthusiasm for their hobby.

- Directions:
- Thistledown Field is located one mile north of Napoleon, Ohio. Refer to the map below.
- From Best Western: North on Rd.12, then west on Rd. R3 (American Road) to Rd.13. Turn right on Rd.13 and go 1/2 mile to Thistledown Field on right.
- From Hwy 6/24: Take the Industrial Drive exit, north 1/2 mile, then west on Rd. R3 (American Road) to Rd.13. Turn right on Rd.13 and go 1/2 mile to Thistledown Field on right.
